Description:

William Adams market hall. (1663-1859). Exterior, front. Showing market wares, wagons and St Nicholas' church behind. The town 'lock up' was probably on the east side and the upper floor was used for functions and the local court. The stocks were also outside the market hall - possibly on east side. It was partially damaged in the fire of 1665.
