Newport Railway Station forecourt with horse taxi to the right.

Description:

Newport Railway Station forecourt with horse taxi to the right. To the left is the original building with a pan tiled roof. The station master's accommodation was on the first floor (see door on the extreme left of the building). Later additions to the station are in the centre and the right. The footbridge was probably covered when the Duke of Sutherland had his private entrance built in 1897. The coach to the right is probably the horse taxi which ferried passengers to the centre of town.
