18 to 20 St Mary Street.

Description:

18 to 20 St Mary Street. Previously the 'Anchor Inn'. The building has a 17th century encroachment onto the pavement. This is in front of an earlier 16th century building. In the 17th century, this was the home of John Ball, a shoemaker, who also had a brew house, stables, a cow house and a courtyard. This is one of the few houses in Newport with a sleeping loft.
