Newport Junior School. This school opened in 1873 as the 'Newport Church of England National School' and pupils went there from 5 - 14 years until a secondary modern school was built in 1957. This image shows the first Infants school which opened in 1898,which is on the left of the main school building. A new infants school in Granville Road was built c.1952 for the town.
