Description:

Reconstructed large dish ('pancheon' type). Decoration: dark brown slip with slip-trailed cream waves. Not 'Staffordshire slipware' - probably made locally (to Newport). Date to 1720-1740. Excavated at 'The Limes' Longford Road and donated to Newport History Society by Mrs M Gamble.
