Description:

Lilleshall Incline. This replaced the tunnel previously used to transfer goods between the two canals. The entire tub boat was hauled up the slope on rollers eliminating the need to unload and reload cargo. Barges going down semi-counter balanced those going up. The incline was closed around 1880.
