Description:
1 Station Road Newport. The "Station Masters House" from the mid 19th century until closure of Newport railway station in 1960's. The house seems to have an earlier core but was rebuilt circa 1800 in Regency style with typical low roof and pediments in classical style. Exterior, north elevation showing twin pediments and windows to the right; blocked in during window tax era (1747) or due to the wing being used not as domestic premises (i.e. coach house)Date: 2014
